This journey into what we believe and why began with four main points of doctrine upon which this entire study is based. The four points of doctrine are:

Introduction: All Bibles are not alike.

But, the Word is to be unaltered . . .

I. Revelation; the revealed Word
A. Delivery of the Word
1. Isaiah 22:14; “in his ears”
2. Ezekiel 2:1-2; “audible”
3. I Corinthians 2:9-10; revealed now in His Word
4. Produces the knowledge of God
5. What about, “The Lord spoke to me?”

B. Objective Standard of Faith; Universal
1. A complete revelation
2. A complete book
3. Colossians 1:25-26
4. There can only be one standard.

II. Inspiration; the inspired Word
A. Produces Words on the page
1. II Timothy 3:16
2. II Peter 1:20
3. Jeremiah 36:1-2
4. God’s Words placed on the page by human authors.

B. God’s intervention
1. God’s Word is God’s words
2. Jeremiah 36:1-2
3. Exodus 19:7

III. Preservation; the preserved Word
A. Through multiplied copies
1. Psalms 12:6-7
2. Isaiah 30:8
3. God promised to preserve the individual words of Scripture

B. Original not preserved; only copies

2. Jesus called the copies, “Scriptures;” Matthew 22:29


Conclusion:
·All Bibles are not alike; God’ Word is to be unaltered.
·It is His Revealed Word; heard by men.
·It is His Inspired Word; written on the page by men.
·It is His Preserved Word; through multiplied copies.
·We can trust our King James Bible as God’ Word and find His final revelation
                        to English speaking people today.
